Matchmaking is done on a 1v1 basis. Once connected it waits for another player to join to start. You can cancel matchmaking by going into offline play.
If you ever get stuck on the Grey/Black "Connecting" screen refresh the page

Best played in Fullscreen 1920x1080 resolution.
